Enhancing the educational experience of Wilson Area students since 2005.

OUR MISSION

The Wilson Area Partners in Education Foundation’s mission is to ensure the highest level of educational innovation supporting students, faculty, and staff with community involvement in a partnership of lifelong learning.

OUR VISION

To grow the vitality of public education in the Wilson Area School District.

OVERVIEW

The Wilson Area Partners in Education Foundation partners with members of the community to provide innovative projects, programs and experiences that enhance the educational journeys of Wilson Area students. We fund initiatives that fall outside of annual district budgets so that our children and youth receive the most comprehensive, dynamic and enriched educational experience possible.

In 2023, the Foundation is dedicated to enhancing its impact through specific key initiatives, including teacher innovation grants, enrichment programming, K-4th Grade STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) learning, health and wellness, virtual reality education and more.

IT’S MUSIC TO OUR EARS

This past year, the Foundation provided funding through an innovation grant to establish 4th grade ukulele music programs at Wilson Borough and Williams Township elementary schools. Teachers Cody Gemmell and Sarafina Schultheis wrote a compelling proposal,  The Ukulele Project: “Uke Can Do It!,” which noted that the investment would ensure every student within the district would learn how to play an instrument by the year 2030.

After the ukuleles arrived in January, the teachers and students got busy learning how to play. Amazingly, the students were ready to showcase their skills in only a few short months.
