Background

Founded in 2005, WAPEF is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of community members and district representatives who work collaboratively to carry out the mission. To enhance impact and move the Foundation forward, the Board hired a part-time Executive Director on August 31, 2021.

Since its inception, the Foundation has allocated over $300,000 in the areas of innovation grants, technology upgrades, scholarships, enrichment programming, athletics and more.

In January of 2022, WAPEF finalized a three-year strategic plan, which will lead into the organization’s 20th anniversary celebration in 2025.
