WAKEUP for EDUCATION, MAY 2ND

Wakeup for Education Logo

THANK YOU to everyone who attended and supported our first annual WAKEUP for EDUCATION breakfast event on May 2nd. It was a beautiful morning! We sincerely enjoyed spending time with our guests and honoring Ms. Linda J. Grass, President of St. Luke’s University Health Network’s Easton Campus (recipient of the Community Impact Award), and Mr. Gary Laubach, former WASD educator and coach (recipient of the Educational Impact Award).

Special thanks as well to our award presenters, Mr. Terrance Hand and Ms. Jaclyn Hudak, and WAPEF Board Member and WAHS alum Emily Reiter, who shared her personal story. The powerful words and impactful messaging in the speeches will not soon be forgotten.

We’re beyond grateful for the wonderful staff at Llantrisant, and the volunteers and event sponsors (listed below) who made WAKEUP for EDUCATION possible.

While this year’s event will be tough to beat, we look forward to celebrating the incredible impact of Wilson Area public education with everyone again next May! Be sure to visit our event photo gallery below.

The 2022 Warrior Challenge

On May 25, 2022, WAPEF hosted the Warrior Challenge at Wilson Area Intermediate School. Designed to inspire Wilson Area students to get OUT and get MOVING, the event focused on fun, fitness and fresh air. It featured a one-mile obstacle course, music, food and more.

The Warrior Challenge was a big success—over 350 students conquered our 14-station obstacle course to raise funds for the Foundation’s key initiatives.

Special thanks to all of our sponsors, including St. Luke’s University Health Network who provided over 25 employee volunteers for the event. St. Luke’s Sports Medicine was also on hand to offer on-site medical support.
