Alloy5’s Match Donation Attracts Our Youngest Giving Tuesday Supporter

November 29th marked this year’s global day of giving, otherwise known as Giving Tuesday.  We’re elated to report that WAPEF exceeded its $1,000 fundraising goal thanks to financial support from multiple donors and a generous $1,000 match commitment from Alloy5 Architecture. The total raised with Alloy5’s match is an incredible $2,425.

While we were working hard to create awareness for our Giving Tuesday campaign, a separate, heartwarming story was unfolding behind the scenes within the Wilson community. Paula Tadayesky, an employee of Texas-based HRchitect, had been informed that her company would make a $100 donation to each employee’s charity of choice. With so many worthy organizations to choose from, Paula decided to consult with her 14-year-old son, Jaxson, an 8th grade student at Wilson Area Intermediate School.

While Paula and Jaxson were deliberating, they happened upon the Foundation’s social media posts highlighting Alloy5’s dollar-for-dollar donation commitment. Seeing the opportunity to double their contribution and support an organization that directly impacts Jaxson and his peers, the decision became crystal clear.

“We wanted to find something local—to make an impact somehow and be a part of something,” said Paula.

Jaxson took that sentiment further when discussing their choice with his mom. “There are kids I go to school with that don’t have it like I do. There are kids that struggle,” he told her. “Some of our afterschool programs have been canceled because there’s not enough money. Some kids don’t have help with school work because there are limited tutors. We are a small school and the donation would really help.”

We thank Paula (a Wilson alum, along with her mother and daughter) and Jaxson for choosing the Wilson Area Partners in Education Foundation to receive HRchitect’s $100 gift, which resulted in $200 with Alloy5’s match. These funds will help support our 2023 key initiatives that will enhance the educational journeys of students throughout the entire district.
