What a Wonderful Year It’s Been: A Note from the Executive Director

Hello and Happy December,

Here at the Wilson Area Partners in Education Foundation, providing educational opportunities that encourage children to dream big and envision a brighter future is at the heart of what we do. It’s what motivates our work today, and has inspired our efforts since 2005.

After navigating the challenges of COVID-19, I’m proud to report the Foundation has emerged stronger and was able to make important contributions across all six of our key areas this year:

Additionally, the Foundation hosted the Warrior Challenge fitness event for over 350 3rd – 12th grade students, and provided $1,000 scholarships for two graduating seniors.

Our numbers show that the Foundation’s 2022 efforts will impact 1,000 WASD students by June of next year.

As we celebrate the fruits of our labor, we must thank all of the donors, volunteers, WASD staff members and community partners who’ve joined with us to bring our key initiatives to life. We’re grateful for those who support quality, public education and serve as champions for the children who benefit from it.

We aim to expand our impact in 2023 and all are invited to help us do so. If you’d like to join us as a committee member, event volunteer, partner, or supporter, please reach out. My door is always open and I’d love to hear from you.

On behalf of the staff and board of the Foundation, we’re wishing you and yours a magical and merry holiday season!

Warmest regards,

Kimberly Hopkins
